We need your help!
The Centennial Place School Foundation (CPSF) has kicked off our 2011-12 fundraising campaign and would like you to participate. What is the CPSF? We are the 501(c)(3) non-profit fundraising foundation which provides Centennial Place Elementary (CPE) with enrichment curriculum, technology and capital needs through family and community donations. In the past, these programs have included: teacher grants, technology equipment purchases (Macs, Promethean Boards), and innovative math, science and technology programming support.
Who are the CPSF members?
We are appointed, volunteer, current and former CPE parents like you, CPE faculty and administrators, business and community leaders, and CPE partners, all of whom have a vested interest in making CPE a state of the art, science, math, engineering, and technology school providing the best education and nurturing environment for our community's children.
How is CPSF different from PTA?
PTA's main purpose is to engage and empower families, teachers and the community to advocate for children and has limits on the amount of funds it can raise and carry over from year to year, while CPSF provides financial support through yearly fundraising campaigns and maintains larger funding balances with fewer restrictions. CPSF Board Members meet with Principal Shelton, and our faculty and students are well underway into their school year. We are excited about being able to help in their educational endeavors.
Why do we need to help?
As you know, Atlanta Public Schools has drastically cut budgets and so CPE faculty and staff are having to do more with less. During these challenging times, CPSF can provide that additional support to meet three critical needs: Teacher Grants; Science/Technology Staffing; and Math Training. If you consider what some of us spend for afterschool care, basketball or gymnastics coaching for our children, making a donation to CPSF is a great value. At the end of the day, your donation goes right back to your children in the form of eye-opening science experiments, higher achievements in math and opportunities to work with technology to make our children competitive now and in the future.
CPSF is therefore asking for the support of all CPE families and our community. Whatever you can give is greatly appreciated -- every dollar counts! Please also reach out to your aunts, uncles, parents, neighbors or employers. If your employer has a matching program, contact us and we'll help you with your employer's forms or questions. All of the money goes directly to support CPE and programs for our students and teachers. You will receive a 501(c)(3) tax donation receipt for your donation.
